El pasado viernes 19 de abril, el Estado de México registró un día sin homicidios, algo que no se había observado en varios meses, de acuerdo con información del Secretariado Ejecutivo del Sistema Nacional de Seguridad Pública (SESNSP). Este hecho se suma a una serie de indicadores que muestran una tendencia hacia la mejoría en materia de seguridad.
Recientemente, el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) publicó la encuesta trimestral de Seguridad Urbana ENSU, en la que muestra datos que indican una disminución del 2% en la percepción de inseguridad en zonas urbanas de la entidad, y una mejora del 7.8% en el desempeño de la percepción de la Policía Estatal del Estado de México, en comparación con diciembre de 2023.
Es importante destacar que el Edomex durante el mes de marzo, a pesar de ser el territorio con mayor población en el país con más 17 millones de habitantes, no está en los primeros 15 lugares de homicidios por cada 100 mil habitantes y solo el 10% de los municipios mexiquenses concentran el 52.3% de los homicidios dolosos de acuerdo con cifras del SESNSP.
